Maybelline Color Tattoo Swatches

Happy Sunday!! Today I will be talking about the Maybelline Color Tattoos. These were released a while ago but it took me some time to get my hands on them. I have been waiting for these babies to go on sale before purchasing them. I purchased two when Chemist Warehouse had 40% off last year, then four last week when they had 50% off. These are by far one of my favorite cream eyeshadows.

Ink technology creates 24HR wear shadow for our most intense, long-lasting colour saturation. Cream formula glides on without creasing and keeps colour vibrant. Ophthalmologist-tested – Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

The Maybelline Color Tattoo have good wear time. You can apply it sheer for a natural look or build it up for a more dramatic look. The consistency of these cream eyeshadows are thick, similar to MAC paint pots. In some reviews I’ve read, these can outlast the wear time of paint pots which is pretty impressive. The pigmentation is quite intense for most of the colors, with not much fading throughout the day. Out of the six colours I have, I found that Painted Purple and Bold Gold are not as pigmented as the others. Having said that, you can still build both of them up. These cream eyeshadows come in a glass jar. The jars are great because you can quickly see the shade without having to open each of the pots. The pots are quite generous in size, these will last me a lifetime.

Have you tried Maybelline Color Tattoo?

P.S – If you haven’t entered my giveaway, you can do it here.

These were purchased by me.

I have Tough as Taupe and I really like it. I use to as an eye shadow base to intensify the colour and bring out iridescence in some shades.

Pomegranate Punk is such a pretty colour, a lot more wearable than painted purple. I been trying to find an occasion to wear painted purple but haven’t had a chance. It kinda sucks putting on make up at home and not going anywhere special lol.

I have Bad to the Bronze and a Limited Edition shade called Barely Beige I got from Canada. They’re really great for on-the-go looks (or when I’m lazy haha). I’ve had my eye on the Tenacious Teal and Painted Purple for a while though… definitely a product I could collect 🙂

Ohh!! I want Tenacious Teal too! I saw in the US there was limited editions that came out a few months ago, are they out in Canada too? I wished we had access to all the amazing makeup in the US and Canada.

Great review, I own almost all the shades! Aren’t they gorgeous just laid out like that in a row?!

I do love the colours and pigmentation, but they do crease on me after a while. Boo. Works okay if I apply a primer beforehand though!

I was looking for the blue shade you used on your Maybelline post but Chemist Warehouse was out of stock, quite disappointed. It’s pretty much creaseless whether I wear primer or not – my lids don’t get as oily.

Great swatches! I have Bad to Bronze and love it but I find that these dry out fairly quickly, or maybe that’s just me.

I have Bad to the Bronze and I love it- it is such a wearable and versatile shade yet so pretty! I love how they are so creamy and easy to apply with your fingertips. I wanted to try Tough as Taupe but I heard that it had a tendency to dry out which is a shame. I’ve seen other shades in the US market and I really want Barely Beige, but they don’t have it here in Australia! Grr 🙁

Hey Karen, I know there are limited edition shades in the US. Wish we had them here!! Tough as Taupe is a little drier than the others but I haven’t had it for long enough to tell if it will dry out.

I’ve been eyeing these for a while, I might pick up Painted Purple if they’re still on sale! Thanks for sharing Kerri 🙂
