What’s in my makeup bag?

Happy Sunday everyone!! I was catching up on some blog reading this morning and noticed some bloggers were posting “What’s in my makeup bag” type posts so I thought it was a good idea if I did a quick run through of the products I have in my bag. I don’t carry this makeup bag in my handbag, this stays at home. Due to my laziness, I wear really minimal makeup to work so I don’t need to touch up during the day. Products I use the most during the week are BB cream, powder and blush but I still like having everything else in the bag. I wear foundation on Fridays and the weekend. I find it really hard to apply foundation on the other days because I wake up so late and I’m usually rushing around like a mad person.

The Dior concealer has been sitting in my bag for a while so it’s time to throw it out as part of my new year’s resolutions! In my handbag, I carry a lip balm, lipstick and lip gloss. If I’m planning on going out during the week night, I pack a mini makeup bag.

What do you carry inside your makeup bag?

Linny!! I dunno why I keep buying eyeliners for, lately i been really into liquid liners. I didn’t like the concealer because I bought it in the wrong colour, it’s a bit too dark for me. It was expensive and I didn’t use it much so I don’t want to throw it out yet lol.

How is the dermalogica primer? Is it good? Would love to try a different one from the one I’m using right now.

Hey Norlin, I think the primer is good with certain foundations. I dunno if it just me but it doesn’t go well with Arbonne foundations (could be the foundation and not the primers fault!). My face ended up looking chalky after a few hours. I reckon get a sample first, coz they are kinda expensive.

I love how easy BB cream is to apply with the fingers compared to foundation- and I like how the coverage isn’t too full so you look more natural. I haven’t tried anything from MAC before but I really want to try their eyeliners as nearly all eyeliners smudge on me, no matter how much they claim to be smudgeproof or waterproof! One day I’ll splurge on MAC…

Hey Karen! I have always used my fingers for bb cream, never used a brush with it. Me too everything smudges on my eyes. It always create print on the lower lid. The only eyeliner that doesn’t cause smudging on me is liquid eyeliners, have you tried them before? I been using Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss. Great eyeliner but a little harder to remove.

Hi Keri I’ve heard good things about Missha BBs but am yet to try! What do you think of it? My trouble is that with all BB I’ve tried so far (Asian & Western brands) I break out if I use > 2-3 days in a row.

Hi Sarah!! I like Missha BBs, I’ve been using the same one for over a year now, 4 days a week. It hasn’t caused any breakout for me but I don’t break out that easily. I like the coverage of this, does a lot more than western brands. I want to try skin79 BBs too, just needa find a decent ebay seller.

My husband’s mom works at Ulta and really recommends the Dermalogica brand a lot. She has moved to different brands but still really stands behind Dermalogica, glad to see it’s in your makeup bag. My link today is to my Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorial.

I’m a fellow fan of Peachkyeen blush, makes me look bright and alive on even my most hungover/not fit for the world days! *ahem* Not that that ever happens.

Thanks for sharing. I love seeing what other people have in their make up bags. I’m nosy, I guess, but sometimes it leads to me finding a really great product!
