Review of the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

It’s the labour day long weekend! Woo hoo! I love public holidays, getting paid to do nothing. Wish we could have more of them! I always look forward to labour day because Moomba is always on the same weekend which means I can have an excuse to eat potato twisties!! Yum!! Have you tried them? If you haven’t, you are missing out big time!! On a completely different topic, I would like to welcome you to my favourite exfoliator, the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant! Remember in some of my old posts, I talked about my dry flakey skin? After using this baby, I rarely have that problem anymore. I now understand why this is an award winning product.

dermalogica daily microfoliant

Our number one exfoliant! Gentle, Rice-based exfoliating powder activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes that micro-exfoliate dead cells, instantly leaving skin smoother and brighter. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colors.

It’s my first time using an exfoliator in powder form. At the start, it was trial and error to determine the consistency which best suits me. After a few days, it was very simple. Just place about half a tea spoon of powder onto one hand, add a small amount of water and mix it together until you get a nice paste. Rub it on your face in circular motion for about a minute then wash off with water. As this is an exfoliator, you do this step after you cleanse your face.

How does a wet powder exfoliate your skin? From what I read, once the powder and water mixes, it releases Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice enzymes that exfoliates dead cells, leaving your skin silky smooth.

I was a bit iffy using this everyday as I’ve tried other “gentle” exfoliators and they were too harsh on my face, but this surprised me. It is gentle enough to use daily and I can feel and see the difference it has made to my skin. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight or cause any irritations. This product is just awesome x2 lol. Dermalogica have recently decreased their prices by an average of 20%. This product now retails for $69, I know you might be thinking this is still quite expensive but one bottle does last a long time. I’ll definitely be purchasing this after my current bottle runs out, I loveee Dermalogica!!

Are you in love with Dermalogica as much as I am?

I was provided this product for consideration. It has not influenced my opinion. An awesome product is an awesome product.

Potato twisties are delicious, especially with salt and vinegar <3
As for the product, I've never seen or heard one like this before, but it has definitely piqued my interest. Thanks for sharing!

I would love to go to Moomba but it’s much too hot (I hate the extremely hot weather!) and I would loveee to be able to have potato twisties 🙁 Yum yum. The Dermalogica Microfoliant is my favourite exfoliant too- it is absolutely amazing! It is so easy to use and is so gentle on the skin. It makes skin smooth and skin products absorb right into your skin 🙂 How lucky to have gotten a bottle for free!

Hi Karen! I’m not a fan of the hot weather as well so we ended up going at night when it was a lot cooler. It’s such an amazing product, and you are right my moisturiser absorbs into my skin a lot better than before. I’m definitely going to purchase it after it runs out.

    LOVE potato twisties. 😀

I agree with everything, I’ve been using this product for about a year now and I love it to bits! Next on my list is the pre-cleanse!
