Fresh off my shopping basket – Priceline Sale and Haul

Fresh off my shopping basket - Priceline Haul

Yippee! It’s that time of the year where Priceline has their 40% off skincare sale. The last few months, I have been waiting for this sale and I’m so glad it’s finally here. If you haven’t gone yet, the sale is on until tomorrow so get in quick. I shared a piccy on instagram yesterday of my shopping basket so it’s only fair I post about the products I’ve purchased. Luckily, today I finished work a little earlier than usual so I could come home and take a photo. The lighting ain’t great but hey it will do for now.

In no particular order, here’s what I got:

Uriage Cleansing Cream – I’ve been using this cleanser for a couple of years now and it’s great as a morning cleanser or days where I’m makeup free.

Nuxe Lifting Eye Cream –  I was attracted to this because it was under the anti-aging section. I’m willing to try anything to stop me from looking like a Chinese Aunty for now. This was the most expensive item out of the 11 items at $32.99 which is not too bad for an eye cream.

La Roche-Posay Micellar Foaming Water – This was recommended to me by a friend last year and have been using it since December. The micellar foaming water is one of my favourite foam cleansers because it’s quite gentle and doesn’t dry out my face.

Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream – A nice and cheap little hand cream at $5.99. I use it mainly before bed time and this permanently sits on my bedside table.

Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Clay Mask – Not gonna lie, I threw this into my shopping basket yesterday as so many bloggers rave about it. Managed to try it last night and I’m pretty happy with it. I saw some oily gunk seep through the mask last night.

Skin Doctors pH Balancing Cleanser, Supermoist & Gamma Hydroxy – At the start of the year, I got to try out these amazing products from Skin Doctors, I loved it so much I had to repurchase.

Nivea Men Protective Moisturiser & Natio Men Oil Free Moisturiser – I couldn’t find the usual moisturiser the husband uses so I purchased the Nivea and Natio moisturisers for him to try.

Cetaphil Moisturising Cream – This is a first time purchase, the husband wanted a moisturiser to bring to work so got this one for him.

Did you go to the Priceline sale and what did you buy?

Bank account said no but the Credit Card said ‘yes, you can afford EVERYTHING’.

5 Night Time Routines

My 5 Night Time Routines

I was pretty bored Saturday night sitting in front of my laptop, trying to think of a blog topic to write about. And yes, I don’t go out Saturday nights. I enjoy being at home with my dog haha I often wonder how people my age (people in their 30’s) party it up every weekend. If you are one of those people, tell me how you do it?? Anyway, I was thinking about a topic I could discuss and trying to avoid another product review today so I realised that I’ve never talked about my night time routine before.

This is pretty much what I do every night without a doubt:

Cleanse face & brush my teeth

Before going to bed, a must for me is facial cleansing and teeth brushing. For face cleansing, I first start off with an oil cleanser and then a foam cleanser just to make sure all my makeup is removed throughly. Right now I’m using Dermalogica Precleanse then followed by La-Roche Posay Sensi White Foam Cleanser. I dunno if it’s because I’m a bit OCD but brushing is super important to me as well. I feel like if I don’t brush, my mouth will be filled with disgusting bacteria when I wake up the following morning.

Wear my mouth splint/mouth guard

Not sure if you guys know this about me but for the last 5 to 6 years, I permanently wear a mouth splint to sleep. If you don’t know what a mouth splint is, it’s to prevent teeth grinding. I’m like the biggest teeth grinder on the face of the planet.

Use eye drops

The reason why I can’t wear contact lenses very often is because my eyes are naturally really dry. I’ve only recently started using eye drops before bed and I find that if I put some drops in before bed, my eyes feel more refreshed the following morning. My mum has been telling me to consider lasik eye surgery but the thought of my eyeball being sliced open scares the sh*t out of me.

A few sips of water before I sleep

I know some people avoid water before bed because it causes puffiness in the face but I need my liquids. The mouth splint that I wear really dries my mouth so I must have some water just before bed.

Moisturise my hands

I have a tube of hand cream on my bed side table and just before bed I like to moisturise my hands. It’s actually the best time to moisturise hands as you won’t wash it off for 7hrs+. Right now I’m using Aveeno Intense Relief hand cream, it does a pretty good job at keeping my hands nice and moisturised. This one is almost done but will definitely buy another tube.

What’s your bed time routine?

Stuff I’ve been loving – June Edition

stuff I've been loving june edition

Welcome to stuff I’ve been loving June Edition!! I’ve been trialing and loving so many products in June, it’s unbelievable. Some of the products featured on this month’s stuff I’ve been loving are old favourites whereas some are new. Grab a cup of tea and something to eat, this is going to be a long post. Lets get started!

stuff I've been loving june edition

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum* – I’ve been using this serum for all of June and I must say for a serum that is under $50 this one wins hands down. It keeps my face soft and smooth throughout the night. The serum has a light floral fragrance but fades after a few minutes. In terms of firmness and lines, I haven’t noticed much difference yet and to be honest I didn’t expect it to. These things take a while to correct.

Lancome Bi Facil Eye Make-Up Remover – I received this deluxe sample from my mum a few months ago. I decided to take this on my trip to Taiwan… let me just say this is ah-mazing. It removes waterproof eyeliner sooo well. I don’t use mascara so I can’t tell you how well that comes off. I just soak my cotton pad and press it against my eye. One swipe is all it takes to remove most of my eye makeup.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick* – There are so many uses for this product. I use it on my nose, lips, nails, knees and elbows. There was one night I was sitting in front of the tv, I just used this as a lip balm and noticed my cuticles were quite dry. So I massaged some around my nails and the next day I noticed it wasn’t as dry anymore. Can you believe this multi purpose product is only $3.99 at Chemist Warehouse?

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid** – A while back I was chatting to a work colleague and she was speaking highly of this sunscreen. She said her dermalogist recommended it to her for sensitive skin. So I went out and got myself a bottle and never looked back. It’s a light texture and doesn’t clog pores or irritate the skin. I use this everyday under my makeup and it has not caused any problems for me. It’s fragrance free and offers a very high sun protection. When I was typing this post up, I realised I actually forgot to take a close up photo of this (sorry!).

Earrings – Since everyone has been loving the rose gold trend, I have decided to follow and bought these rose gold petite cube earrings. I got these from Taiwan for like a few dollars. They are so light, it feels as though you are wearing nothing and they are perfect for work. I did have to coat the back with nail polish because my ears are allergic to anything that is not gold.

Sasatinnie Rosehip Oil Face Mask – If you saw my Taiwan haul post last month, you would have seen I bought a bunch of face masks. I bought 3 boxes of this mask. It was so cheap too, I think it was just under $10AUD per box. Each box contains 10 masks which is equivalent to $1 a mask. This $1 mask does a better job than some of those $20 masks I’ve tried. I wake up with amazingly smooth skin every time I use this.

100% Pure Pot Rouge Blush in Posey* – Don’t let this little jar fool you! I realised after using it that there is so much pigment, a little goes a long way. I’ve been using it about 3 times a week and it has not left a dent in the jar. This blush gives the face a natural flush of colour. Posey is a nice colour that would suit most skin tones. I used my fingers to apply this blush and it is quite blendable. I would suggest to use less and build up as you goes.

Colour Theory Nail Polish in Rose Gold* – My current favourite nail polish this month! You can read all about it on my Monday Mani here.

Colour Theory All Eye Need Palette* – I’m such a badie, I also forgot to take a close up photo!  For a palette that is $10, this is pretty good quality. The All Eye Need contains 5 colours – 4 metallic and 1 slightly shimmery. This little palette can create basic looks and even the smokey eye. Great for travelling if you don’t plan on using much makeup. These eyeshadows can lasts all day on me with a primer underneath.

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar – I bought this from the Tony Moly store in Taiwan. The shade name was attached to the barcode sticker and I ripped it off without realising so I have no idea what shade this is. The Gloss Bar is in between a lip gloss and lipstick. It leaves a beautiful pop of colour and shine. The packaging is also so unbelievable cute, the lid has bunny ears and face. My only regret is not buying more…

Circa Home Scented Soy Candle in Pear & Lime* – I was raving about this candle in my weekly round up post. I find that candles create a warm and homey atmosphere. Circa Home describes the scent as invigorating blend of zesty Mexican Lime, Anjou Pear, warm Vanilla and Sandalwood. Honestly speaking I’m really bad at describing scents but I can tell you this smells sweet and delicious. The packaging is simple yet elegant. The wooden lid and frosted glass can be re-used after you’re done with the candle.

Jane Iredale Pommist Hydration Spray** – Pommist is a facial spray packed of powerful antioxidants and UV protector. The main ingredients of this fantastic spray is pomegranate extract, white tea leaf extract and rosemary leaf extract. All these three combined will help hydrate and protect the skin. The sprayer is very fine so you won’t expect your face to be drenched in mist. The scent is fruity and is on the stronger side. For people who don’t like scented products, you may find this too much for you. I on the other hand love the scent and keep spraying all over my face like a drug. Another benefit of this product is that it can be used over makeup. Sometimes if I over powder my face, I spray a little Pommist over it and it transform my cakey face into a dewy one.

What are some of your favourite products?

Products marked with * have been provided for consideration and products with ** I have since repurchased or purchased it myself to begin with.
