Just A Little Obsessed With Korean Sheet Masks

Hiya Bloggie Friends! It’s been 3 months since my last blog post, kudos to everyone who’s still around!

If you follow me on instagram, you would have seen my adventures in Japan (again) and Korea. Japan is one of those countries where there is so much to do and see. We literally had ramen almost everyday for 2 weeks while we were there. We even queued up hour and half for some ramen joints. Everything we ate were delicious.

Korea too was awesome. We traveled to Busan, Jeju and Seoul. Seoul was by far my favourite city in Korea (probably because of all the skincare and makeup stores every where). Our hotel was located right in the middle of Myeongdong, one of the biggest shopping district in Seoul. I was constantly lured into stores with shop assistants waving free Korean sheet masks in my face. Being the sucker I am, I fell right into their trap. Initially I wanted to purchase only a few from each store just to try it out but then I realised stores in Korea encourage buying in bulk (ie buy 10 get 10 free). To reap the bargains, that’s what I did bought larger quantities. The sheet masks price in Korea ranges from $0.60 to $1.20AUD per mask which is really good compared to what’s being sold in Sephora Australia.

Korean Sheet Masks

Who would of thought sheet masks were so heavy?? It added extra 5kg of weight to my baggage, luckily we flew Cathay Pacific and had 30kg. The stores I mainly shopped at were Etude House, The Face Shop, Missha, Nature Republic, Tony Moly, Olive Young (for Dr Jart+) and Innisfree. So far the only ones I’ve used are Tony Moly x Pokemon sheet masks. I bought them when we first arrived in Korea and used them almost daily. Being on so many flights this trip, I found it has really helped my skin maintain hydration.

I also bought two boxes of mask from Japan as well, haven’t started using them yet so not much to talk about it yet.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed my Korean sheet mask stash! Are you a fan of sheet mask?

Everything purchased with my own $$.

Monday Mani featuring Nature Republic in 16

This week’s Monday Mani is a nail polish by Nature Republic in 16. I’m not too sure on the shade name, the sticky label at the back is written in Korean. After researching this polish on google, turns out this is actually a gel nail polish. Nature Republic is a South Korean cosmetic brand. My friend recently came back from Hawaii and bought this for me as a gift. There were a few stores in Taiwan but I didn’t get a chance to go in so I’m pretty chuffed my bud brought this back for me.

Here’s a bit about Nature Republic and I took this off the Visit Korea website:

Nature Republic is a cosmetic brand that focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle to modern customers through its natural cosmetics. It offers diverse products ranging from skin care to body and hair care. All products contain natural ingredients.

The consistency of this gel polish is not too thin or thick, pretty much the same consistency as a normal nail polish. The only difference is once it’s applied, it looks ultra shiny. You don’t need a UV lamp with this gel polish which is awesome. Might I add it also dries really quickly too. I applied two coats and it was fully dried within 20 mins.

This pink shade looks really lovely on. I can tell you the photo below doesn’t do it any justice. After 5 days, the polish started chipping slightly but still very wearable.

Here I’ve used one coat of Orly Bonder, two coats of Nature Republic in 16 and one coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Flash top coat. Overall, I have really enjoyed using this polish. The formula, wear and consistency was great.

What’s your favourite nail polish colour?

My week in photos – Feat. Voices of 2015 and random stuff

The last episode of my week in photos was sometime last year right before I moved houses. I woke up yesterday feeling mega inspired to write about my weekend, maybe because I attended the Voices of 2015 Masterclass on Saturday and it motivated me to start blogging consistently again? Who knows…

I was dam nervous Friday night because I didn’t think I would know anyone at the event and in large social events it can be quite daunting for introverts like myself. The day started off with a welcoming breakfast by Garnier. I met some lovely food and personal bloggers, everyone was insanely friendly. The breakfast was awesome possum, we had all of the yummies in the photo above and then they also served us a hot breakfast.

I was scanning the room looking for any familiar faces and then I saw Ling from The Best Beauty Blog and Tine from Beautyholics Anonymous sitting across the other side of the room. Next thing you know I got a text from Norlin (Baubles, Bubbles & Bags) and she was sitting two tables away from me. I haven’t seen these ladies in the longest time and it was so good catching up.

During the Masterclass event, we had guest speakers talking about SEO, influencing, building a community and Soapbox. I’m not a very techy person and the way the guest speakers spoke made it very easy to understand and didn’t confuse me much. It was an awesome event and I took away a few to-do items that I will be implementing on the blog.

Lately I’ve been obsessing over stationery and I saw this cute notepad from Typo on sale, it was too good to miss.

My best friend just came back from Hawaii a couple of weeks ago so we caught up on Monday. She’s like one of the most generous people I know, she bought me two Nature Republic nail polishes and the Clarins Makeup Compact Palette.

I’ve curled my hair 2-3 times this week right after I wash and dry my hair using the MUK Curls Stick. This came with my BeautyHeaven prize ages ago but I didn’t start using it until this week. I find that using this curl stick help keep the curls in my hair for longer.

Would you like a mathematical equation to the best Sunday afternoon? Well here it is!

Best Sunday afternoon = Beautiful scented candle + T2 Tea + Magazine

Yesterday I was reading Vogue Living that came in the Masterclass goodie bag. I am so in love with the Circa Home Pear & Lime Soy Candle, it’s not even funny! This is my second Pear & Lime scented candle and it’s the bomb. I was sent this one for consideration but hey if it’s good, it’s good. There’s no denying it!! To top it off, I had a few glasses of T2 Ruby Red Rosehip tea. Felt like a million bucks yesterday afternoon and I didn’t even need to go to a spa for it.

I haven’t posted about Luffy in a while so here he is! He’s grown so much in the last couple of months. His fur is filling out and I have fur all over my charcoal carpet. I was taking some blog photos Sunday morning and he was running around my room sniffing all my makeup and skin care stuff.

sensory couple kdrama

We just finished another Korean Drama this week, called Sensory Couple. I won’t talk about it much but if you’re into K-drama, you should check this one out. The main actress and actor are adorable and loved the characters that they portrayed.

How was your week and what did you get up to?
