Just A Little Obsessed With Korean Sheet Masks

Hiya Bloggie Friends! It’s been 3 months since my last blog post, kudos to everyone who’s still around!

If you follow me on instagram, you would have seen my adventures in Japan (again) and Korea. Japan is one of those countries where there is so much to do and see. We literally had ramen almost everyday for 2 weeks while we were there. We even queued up hour and half for some ramen joints. Everything we ate were delicious.

Korea too was awesome. We traveled to Busan, Jeju and Seoul. Seoul was by far my favourite city in Korea (probably because of all the skincare and makeup stores every where). Our hotel was located right in the middle of Myeongdong, one of the biggest shopping district in Seoul. I was constantly lured into stores with shop assistants waving free Korean sheet masks in my face. Being the sucker I am, I fell right into their trap. Initially I wanted to purchase only a few from each store just to try it out but then I realised stores in Korea encourage buying in bulk (ie buy 10 get 10 free). To reap the bargains, that’s what I did bought larger quantities. The sheet masks price in Korea ranges from $0.60 to $1.20AUD per mask which is really good compared to what’s being sold in Sephora Australia.

Korean Sheet Masks

Who would of thought sheet masks were so heavy?? It added extra 5kg of weight to my baggage, luckily we flew Cathay Pacific and had 30kg. The stores I mainly shopped at were Etude House, The Face Shop, Missha, Nature Republic, Tony Moly, Olive Young (for Dr Jart+) and Innisfree. So far the only ones I’ve used are Tony Moly x Pokemon sheet masks. I bought them when we first arrived in Korea and used them almost daily. Being on so many flights this trip, I found it has really helped my skin maintain hydration.

I also bought two boxes of mask from Japan as well, haven’t started using them yet so not much to talk about it yet.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed my Korean sheet mask stash! Are you a fan of sheet mask?

Everything purchased with my own $$.

Stuff I’ve been loving – June Edition

stuff I've been loving june edition

Welcome to stuff I’ve been loving June Edition!! I’ve been trialing and loving so many products in June, it’s unbelievable. Some of the products featured on this month’s stuff I’ve been loving are old favourites whereas some are new. Grab a cup of tea and something to eat, this is going to be a long post. Lets get started!

stuff I've been loving june edition

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum* – I’ve been using this serum for all of June and I must say for a serum that is under $50 this one wins hands down. It keeps my face soft and smooth throughout the night. The serum has a light floral fragrance but fades after a few minutes. In terms of firmness and lines, I haven’t noticed much difference yet and to be honest I didn’t expect it to. These things take a while to correct.

Lancome Bi Facil Eye Make-Up Remover – I received this deluxe sample from my mum a few months ago. I decided to take this on my trip to Taiwan… let me just say this is ah-mazing. It removes waterproof eyeliner sooo well. I don’t use mascara so I can’t tell you how well that comes off. I just soak my cotton pad and press it against my eye. One swipe is all it takes to remove most of my eye makeup.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick* – There are so many uses for this product. I use it on my nose, lips, nails, knees and elbows. There was one night I was sitting in front of the tv, I just used this as a lip balm and noticed my cuticles were quite dry. So I massaged some around my nails and the next day I noticed it wasn’t as dry anymore. Can you believe this multi purpose product is only $3.99 at Chemist Warehouse?

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid** – A while back I was chatting to a work colleague and she was speaking highly of this sunscreen. She said her dermalogist recommended it to her for sensitive skin. So I went out and got myself a bottle and never looked back. It’s a light texture and doesn’t clog pores or irritate the skin. I use this everyday under my makeup and it has not caused any problems for me. It’s fragrance free and offers a very high sun protection. When I was typing this post up, I realised I actually forgot to take a close up photo of this (sorry!).

Earrings – Since everyone has been loving the rose gold trend, I have decided to follow and bought these rose gold petite cube earrings. I got these from Taiwan for like a few dollars. They are so light, it feels as though you are wearing nothing and they are perfect for work. I did have to coat the back with nail polish because my ears are allergic to anything that is not gold.

Sasatinnie Rosehip Oil Face Mask – If you saw my Taiwan haul post last month, you would have seen I bought a bunch of face masks. I bought 3 boxes of this mask. It was so cheap too, I think it was just under $10AUD per box. Each box contains 10 masks which is equivalent to $1 a mask. This $1 mask does a better job than some of those $20 masks I’ve tried. I wake up with amazingly smooth skin every time I use this.

100% Pure Pot Rouge Blush in Posey* – Don’t let this little jar fool you! I realised after using it that there is so much pigment, a little goes a long way. I’ve been using it about 3 times a week and it has not left a dent in the jar. This blush gives the face a natural flush of colour. Posey is a nice colour that would suit most skin tones. I used my fingers to apply this blush and it is quite blendable. I would suggest to use less and build up as you goes.

Colour Theory Nail Polish in Rose Gold* – My current favourite nail polish this month! You can read all about it on my Monday Mani here.

Colour Theory All Eye Need Palette* – I’m such a badie, I also forgot to take a close up photo!  For a palette that is $10, this is pretty good quality. The All Eye Need contains 5 colours – 4 metallic and 1 slightly shimmery. This little palette can create basic looks and even the smokey eye. Great for travelling if you don’t plan on using much makeup. These eyeshadows can lasts all day on me with a primer underneath.

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar – I bought this from the Tony Moly store in Taiwan. The shade name was attached to the barcode sticker and I ripped it off without realising so I have no idea what shade this is. The Gloss Bar is in between a lip gloss and lipstick. It leaves a beautiful pop of colour and shine. The packaging is also so unbelievable cute, the lid has bunny ears and face. My only regret is not buying more…

Circa Home Scented Soy Candle in Pear & Lime* – I was raving about this candle in my weekly round up post. I find that candles create a warm and homey atmosphere. Circa Home describes the scent as invigorating blend of zesty Mexican Lime, Anjou Pear, warm Vanilla and Sandalwood. Honestly speaking I’m really bad at describing scents but I can tell you this smells sweet and delicious. The packaging is simple yet elegant. The wooden lid and frosted glass can be re-used after you’re done with the candle.

Jane Iredale Pommist Hydration Spray** – Pommist is a facial spray packed of powerful antioxidants and UV protector. The main ingredients of this fantastic spray is pomegranate extract, white tea leaf extract and rosemary leaf extract. All these three combined will help hydrate and protect the skin. The sprayer is very fine so you won’t expect your face to be drenched in mist. The scent is fruity and is on the stronger side. For people who don’t like scented products, you may find this too much for you. I on the other hand love the scent and keep spraying all over my face like a drug. Another benefit of this product is that it can be used over makeup. Sometimes if I over powder my face, I spray a little Pommist over it and it transform my cakey face into a dewy one.

What are some of your favourite products?

Products marked with * have been provided for consideration and products with ** I have since repurchased or purchased it myself to begin with.

Goodies from Taiwan!

Goodies from Taiwan_beautyandthings
Well chickadees, my trip has come to an end. I’ve been back since Tuesday and went straight to work the following day. It was an amazing trip with lots of eating and sightseeing. I thought I would post about beauty goodies from Taiwan. There were so much stuff that I wanted but I had to keep to a budget. Most of the beauty products I bought were from Watsons, SaSa and Innisfree.

Goodies from Taiwan Innisfree face masks_beautyandthings
As you can see, I had a thing for face masks this trip. I actually bought 6 boxes and ended up using an entire box while I was over there. I would have bought more but they take up a fair bit of room in my luggage.

Shopping at Innisfree was pretty awesome. I bought 5 individual face mask sheets and they gave me 2 free gifts – the cleansing kit and their best loved collection. Gotta love freebies!!
Goodies from Taiwan Watsons_beautyandthings
Here are my Watsons and other drugstore purchases except for the Tony Moly Lip Gloss. I didn’t realise the Biore UV Aqua was that popular until I posted on instagram. It was a random purchase for the husband but now I’ve claimed it as mine. I should have perhaps bought another just in case.
Goodies from Taiwan Jill Stuart blush_beautyandthings
This is my favourite purchase of all – my first ever Jill Stuart product. The packaging is so fancy yet ultra girly, it even comes with a brush. I’m going through a huge dilemma. On one hand, I want to start using it and the other I don’t want to ruin such a precious blush haha.

That’s it for this post, stay tuned next week for the next post where I talk about my trip to Taiwan.

Let me know if you have tried any of the products above, would love to hear your thoughts.

Everything was purchased by me.
